Podcast Interview with Faisal Abbas of the ArabNews.com

Arab News Editor-in-Chief Faisal Abbas discusses trends in the Middle East, developments in Syria, Palestine and Saudi Arabia in a live radio appearance on Radio Baladi on WNZK Detroit radio Friday morning

By Ray Hanania

Arab News Editor-in-Chief Faisal Abbas joined me on Radio Baladi on live Arab radio in Detroit to discuss issues in the Middle East and the growth of the Arab News newspaper, the leading English Language newspaper in the Middle East.

One of the topics discussed in the upcoming visit of Jordan’s King Abdullah II to meet with President Donald Trump in Washington D.C. to discuss ways to jumpstart the peace process that Israel’s government is trying to kill.

Abbas suggests that rather than meeting with Trump as one leader, King Abdullah II should invite other Arab leaders who attended the Arab League Summit this past week and meet with Trump as a group to enlist his support to push Israel to accept a genuine peace and to stop preventing a peace accord.

Israel is the primary obstacle to peace in the Middle East, seeking to confiscate land and oppress Christians and Muslims in the hopes of expanding its control over occupied Palestine. Israel’s radical Jewish extremist government hopes that its land confiscation actions can prevent peace from being achieved allowing it to continue to occupy Palestinian land and avoid making concessions.
